What I See Is Wrong With Glee

Don’t get me wrong, I love Glee. Every part of it. But at the same time, as an observant teenager, I notice things.  So this is my list of what I see wrong in Glee.

  1. Where are the friends?   In highschool, friends are number one. So how come we never meet any of the friends of Rachel or Tina or Mercedes? It seems a bit unrealistic to say that they absolutly no friends at all. And in real life, people like joining their clubs with their friends. It seems that Rachel, Kurt, Artie, Mercedes and Tina were complete loners and strangers before New Directions started and have no other friends. In fact, the only other friends we’ve seen is other cheerleaders, other football players, the Warblers and Sean, Finn’s friend. That’s totally unrealistic.
  2. Kurt’s illegal moves   Kurt is now in grade 12, meaning that in Season 1, he was in grade 10. When you’re in grade 10, you are 15 for the first few monthes until the year changes and then you turn 16. As we know, Sectionals happen before Christmas and before the year change. So in other words, Kurt was still 15 before Sectionals. However, in the 3rd episode of the 1st season (Acafellas) Kurt rolled up in a large black SUV. In other words, Kurt was 15 years old and a driving a car. In public. Without an adult. Clearly, the Glee writers missed that fact.
  3. They all know the lyrics   Do you notice how one person gets up and sings and all of the sudden all the other people automatically know all the exact lyrics and dance moves and join in? How is that realistic? I mean, lyrics, maybe. If they mess up a bit. Or forget once in a while. Which they don’t. But even their dance moves are all the same. We never see them reherse or practice or anything. Or even how in a song when people get one-line solos. How do they know what line, who goes next or how many verses? Doesn’t that seem a bit unreal?
  4. Everyone is so special   New Directions has all the steryotpes covered in the group. Gay, Black, Wheelchair, Tall, Short…..the list goes on. But guess what? In real highschools, most people look normal. Like in one class, there’s six people who all have the same hair and the same personalily. In New Directions, they are all so special and different from each other. That’s not realistic.
  5. Changing stories    Remember in Asian F when we met Emma’s parents and Emma tells Will how she became a germaphobe becuase when she was little and she went to restaurants, her parents would make her clean the cup if a non-ginger touched it? We believe that that’s her reason of why she became a germaphobe, right? Well, remember in Season 1, episode 2 (Showmance) when Emma told Will that her brother pushed her into a contaminated lagoon when she was little, which was so dirty and smelly that she hated it so much and from then on, has had the urge to clean. That’s just one changing story. Another is Rachel’s dads. I’m not going to expand on that much, but you can read more from an older post by clicking >> Rachel’s Dads and A Ring!

So there we have it. 5 Things that I see that is wrong. But again, I still love Glee and I forgive the writers for making those mistakes XD. Do you have see any more issues/mistakes? If you do, I’d love to hear them! 🙂 It’s fun feeling smart for noticing these things! Especially the Kurt’s driving thing because I was like “OMG he is doing something illegal! What a rebel!!!”

P.S.  It’s day 33 of the 49 Days of Agony! 😀

The changing stories drives me nuts too!
I notice this alot in Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel. I guess as fans you tend to remember the inconsistencies more than the writers do!
